This is a Buffet Crampon Vintage Bass Clarinet. Made in France. Its stamped LP and Carl Fischer New York below the name area. See photo. It has the number 290S stamped by the edge. The mouthpiece is made by Selmer. Comes with poor condition case. From a local estate. Needs Restoration. Read details below before bidding.
Cosmetics-Good overall for its age with some general wear and tarnish. This was sitting in storage for many years. One of the body sections is missing what I believe is a small metal loop for attaching a strap by the finger trigger grip. See 3rd photo. The cork and pads look old but are mostly intact. One pad is pretty frayed. The body sections fit together snugly. The mouthpiece is tight to insert so I did not force it in all the way. Operationally no testing has been done. I am not a music person. I did push all the keys and most of them moved and sprung back freely. A few of the keys though did not spring back and did not seem to function correctly. Bid assuming this will need work or parts replaced to be useable.
Great for someone who likes restoring old bass clarinets. See lots of photos of what you are getting. Sold AS IS.
Includes the four clarinet pieces, mouthpiece, and poor case seen above. No ligature parts. The case has heavy wear, is falling apart, the handle is just a tied on cloth strap, and has a musty smell to it. Just good for protecting it during shipping. Nothing else is included. Will be well packed for safe shipping
