Fritz Wurlitzer Bb Clarinet German System Playing Condition!

A rare early clarinet from the legendary maker himself! This is an original Fritz Wurlitzer German system Bb clarinet. It is tuned to modern pitch and while not Oehler system it does feature most of the keys one would expect on a modern instrument such as the sliver F/C and the high C# correction mechanism. This clarinet is truly a dream to play. Great response and intonation and a beautiful tone. The pads are older but are still mostly sealing. An overhaul would help but it does play fairly well as is. Comes with the original case. Note, the mouthpiece socket is the older style at 22.5mm. It will not fit modern Wurlitzer mouthpieces however it will fit any French mouthpiece. If desired I make barrels and I am happy to make an extra barrel to accept modern mouthpieces at an addition cost.
This clarinet has been heavily used and does show quite a bit of wear. Notably, both the center socket and tenon suffered damage and needed extensive repairs. The socket has an external nickel silver sleeve and the tenon was replaced and a large chunk of wood was missing and filled in with superglue and Grenadilla dust. The repair came out great and the joint is now stronger than it originally was. Because of the damage I have priced this instrument lower than normal, if you’ve always wanted a Wurlitzer but could never afford one this is your chance! Other than that the instrument shows plating wear, engravings, dings and dents. The barrel has a repaired crack that is sealing well. Tenon corks are not new but are in good shape and as still fairly tight. The bell does not have a logo and is made of vulcanite but matches pictures that I have seen so I assume it is original.
