Fully Refurbished Leblanc Symphonie Model Bb Clarinet

Offered here is a newly refurbished Leblanc Symphonie model Bb clarinet. This instrument features solid German Silver keys. It has been well maintained and still has most of its original gold plated springs. The key action is very smooth with little to no "slop" in the mechanism. It's a great player, with a full rich tone. The response is quick in all registers. The wood has a very tight grain. When freshly oiled, it looks almost like plastic and shows very little ware. Here is another instrument I wish I could justify keeping. It's a beautiful clarinet.
I have completely disassembled the instrument; oiled it inside and out; hand buffed each key before replacing the pads with new 3 mm, double skin pads; then reassembled the instrument; play tested; and finally made minor adjustments as needed. The instrument will come ready to play. I'm not including a mouthpiece because I assume that the buyer will have a mouthpiece that he/she prefers. Should you need a mouthpiece, just let me know and I will include a used mouthpiece suitable to your needs.
This instrument will make an amazing instrument for a young player. For an advancing player, this is a major step up. (Please don't consider this clarinet if you're looking for a marching band instrument.) For an adult, after you try this clarinet, you won't be satisfied with any thing less.
The case is, I believe, original to the instrument and does show its age. While not cosmetically attractive, it is a sound case that should give many years of good service.
I am a retired music teacher and professional woodwind performer with over 60 years experience. Since my retirement from teaching, I have maintained an active schedule as a performer and have set about to find good quality clarinets (once in a while a flute) in need of repair, which I get back into as good a condition as possible and then get them into the hands of someone who will use it well. These old Leblancs are far superior to all of the new plastic models and to many, if not most of the more expensive wood models on the market today. Why settle for an inferior plastic clarinet when for less money you can have a beautiful wood instrument. My prices cover my costs (most of the time).
