    Description

THIS IS A RARE LEBLANC LL BASS CLARINET FOR RESTORATION, OR PARTS IF THAT IS WHAT YOU WILL CHOSE TO DO WITH THIS, HOWEVER MY TESTER SAYS IT DEFINITELY HAS GREAT POTENTIAL FOR RESTORATION BY THE RIGHT OWNER WHO CAN DO CLARINET RESTORATIONS. PLEASE ONLY BUY THIS AFTER YOU HAVE COMPLETELY READ ALL OF MY LENGTHY DESCRIPTION. I REALLY TRIED TO GET MY PIC TO SHOW THE LOGO WHERE YOU CAN SEE THE DOUBLE L INSIGNIA JUST ABOVE THE LEBLANC LOGO. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO JUST SEE THE LEFT L IF YOU ENLARGE THE PIC AND VIEW IT WITH 2 PAIRS OF READERS! I CAN SEE IT PRETTY WELL BECAUSE I HAVE THE CLARINET HERE FOR REFERENCE. BUT NO MATTER, IT IS THERE AND IS A DOUBLE L INSIGNIA, WHERE THE BACKWARDS LEFT L LEANS TOWARDS THE RIGHT L WITH NICE SCROLL LETTERING. THERE IS NO NECK WITH THIS BUT IT DOES HAVE ITS STILL IN NICE CONDITION BELL. MY TESTER USED A BUNDY NECK TO TEST THIS WITH, BUT THE RECEIVER ON THIS BASS IS LARGER THAN A BUNDY RECEIVER SO HE HAD TO PUT TAPE AROUND THE BORROWED NECK TO GET IT TO FIT DECENTLY. HE WAS ABLE TO PLAY THIS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO LOW Eb AND UP TO THE HIGHEST G WITH RELATIVE EASE, BUT THE SCALE WAS A BIT WONKY BECAUSE THE NECK IS NOT A MATCH FOR THIS BASS CLARINET. IT PLAYS AS IT DOES WITH A BORROWED NECK BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY PADS THAT I WOULD CONSIDER IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THEN THERE ARE A FEW PADS ON IT THAT ARE IN "WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE PADS STILL DOING ON THIS BASS CLARINET EVEN THOUGH THEY SEEM TO BE SEALING" CONDITION. THE REST ARE STILL MODERATE AND PLENTY GOOD. THE NEW OWNER MAY WANT TO JUST REDO ALL PADS AND SUCH FOR THE BEST RESTORATION. THIS HAS THE VERY HANDY FORKED KEYWORK SET UP FOR THE RIGHT HAND. FOR EASE IN PLAYING THE LOW Ab AND THE MIDDLE Eb MORE EASILY THAN DOING THE "SLIDE AND PRAY" METHOD. THE NECK RECEIVER HAS BEEN SEALED UP AS MOST OF THESE VERY OLD LEBLANCS HAVE HAD DONE. THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE BOTTOM TENON HAS THOSE HAIRLINE CRACKS ON IT AND UP A WAYS THAT HAVE BEEN SEALED DECENTLY. JUST ABOVE THE BOTTOM TENON CORK WHERE THE BODY STARTS THERE IS SOME WOOD CHIP OUT THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE THE TONE HOLE OPENING IN ANY WAY. THERE IS A LOT OF THE USUAL PLATING WEAR, WOOD SCUFFING, KNICKING, AND ALL BLEMISHING ASSOCIATED WITH MANY YEARS OF USE BY A SCHOOL SYSTEM AND WILL NEED A GOOD CLEANING AND OILING AND SUCH ASSOCIATED WITH OVERHAULING A BASS CLARINET. BUT ALL THIS SAID... IF YOU HAVE A LEBLANC NECK ALREADY THAT WILL FIT THIS, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ASSEMBLE THIS UPON ARRIVAL, PUT YOUR NECK, MOUTHPIECE,  AND REED ON IT AND PLAY IN A BAND CONCERT WITH IT THAT NIGHT AFTER JUST SOME MINIMAL PERSONAL ADJUSTMENTS. THE CHROMATIC SCALE FROM BOTTOM TO TOP WAS RELATIVELY SMOOTH AND EASY FOR HIM TO PLAY CONSIDERING WHAT I HAVE JUST DESCRIBED AND IT HAVING TO BE TESTED WITH A BORROWED NON MATCHING NECK. ANYWAY! IF YOU ARE STILL READING AND THINK YOU MIGHT WANT TO HAVE A GO AT RESTORING THIS... THINK AGAIN, THEN ONCE MORE BEFORE BUYING THIS. IT WILL CERTAINLY BE A PROJECT THAT YOU MIGHT BE PROUD TO HAVE TAKEN THE CHANCE ON! OH, AND CHECK OUT THE CASE! WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW A CLOTH PATTEN LIKE THAT?! YOUR GREAT GRANDMOTHERS CURTAINS???? THE CASE HAS BEEN WELL USED, STURDIED UP, WELL USED SOME MORE, AND IS PROBABLY READY FOR THE DUMPSTER, OR ANOTHER PART OF THIS BASS CLARINET PROJECT. NOTHING ELSE WITH THIS. SEE MY FEEDBACK, I LIST HONESTLY AND ACCURATELY AND TAKE PRIDE IN MY EBAY DEALINGS AND HAVE FRIENDLY RESPECTFUL COMMUNICATIONS.
I SHIP ECONOMY WITH INSURANCE AND SIGNATURE REQUIRED AND WILL ADD TRACKING INFO WHEN SHIPPED. I HAVE A 3 BUSINESS DAY HANDLING TIME.
